Changing the MPD: Charter Change Public Commenting

July 16, 2020 2:28 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

It has been front-page news across the nation. The discussion surrounding "defund the police" and the Minneapolis council's subsequent proposal for a charter change is fueling a lot of discussion. The charter proposal is currently in the hands of the Minneapolis Charter Commission, and they are accepting public comment.

The next virtual public hearing will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 21. Participation instructions will be published on the City’s website. If you’re interested in speaking at either or both of the public hearings, you can pre-register using the online registration form.
