Please RSVP So We Know How Many to Expect.
Fellow Business Owners, Some significant changes in earned sick time and employee scheduling are being proposed by the Mayor and some members of the City Council. If you have any employees or will have any employees, this will affect your business. The City Council is moving forward on what Mayor Betsy Hodges refers to as the "Working Families Agenda" as outlined in her State of the City address this past April. We have been told some sort of legislation will come before the City Council in November.
What is the SWBA is doing? How can you help? Input. We have scheduled a meeting between Council Member Glidden and the business community for October 1 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commons Room at City Church, 1501 W 54th Street for the primary purpose of having a forum where business owners can communicate with the Council Member on how their business would be impacted by these changes if they were made law. Your input at this meeting is critical in helping Council Member Glidden and other policy makers understand the impact of what is currently being proposed. If you cannot attend, please send your comments to info@experiencesouthwest.com as soon as possible.
